Change

I have had this topic going around in my head for the last few weeks.  As I have found a lot of my crafting habits changing with this Christmas season.

There are so many things that you can change in your life:
* clothes
* mind
* money
* history
* places
* behaviour
* expression
just to name a few.

And then there are so many ways to say "change" as well:
* adjustment
* development
* diversity
* revolution
* shift
* switch
* transition
* variation

I like to think that all the synonyms listed above describe how I have changed how I think about my crafting, especially card making.

I remember a long-ish time ago I was over at a really good friend's place and I was scrapping and she was pottering and wondering what to do.  She finally decided that she was going to sit down and stamp some paper bags for birthday wrapping, etc.  Anyway, I looked at how fiddly it looked and said "I would never do that, it's just too fiddly".  I have just learnt that I should not say "never" because that is how Stampin' Up! has changed my mind, behaviour and expression.  See below for the wonderful changes I have made to my Christmas gift giving this year.

I cheated with the tags, as a fulltime working Mum I just did not
have the time to sit down and make my own tags.  So I went to the
newsagent and bought tags already made and threaded for about $8.

Then I stamped to my hearts content.

Using the Candy Cane Christmas, Jar of Cheer and Tin of Tags stamp sets and stamp pads, pens and aqua painter I have turned the plain tags into beautiful gift tags.  I have attached a product list for you to see what I have used.

Even the paper got in on the act.  I used the paper I had saved from the packaging
from my Stampin' Up! parcels and stamped it.

Well this blog is finally done, it is 3 days after Christmas now and the chaos is over.  I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and are looking forward to a relaxing few days before the New Year pops in and starts the process of school, work and life all over again.

Wishing everyone a very happy and healthy New Year and
I hope you are looking forward to the wonderful things Stampin' Up! will be offering in 2017!!!

Cheers and happy stamping

First class

It is 9 days until my first class.  I am very excited and nervous all at once.  I have 3 gorgeous friends and a brand new person that I have not even met before coming to the class.  I am really looking forward to meeting Deborah.  She made an order through me on the SU! website and of course I got her details so I thought I would ring her straight away and make contact.  I am so glad I did.  I have talked to Deb a few times over the last couple of weeks and she is really excited to be learning to make cards as well.  She is a scrapbooker, as I am, and wants to get into card making.  I am very excited to have such an enthusiastic class member.

My first class is focusing on my most favourite stamp and thinlits in the current catalogue.  Those are the Swirly Bird Stamp Set and the Swirly Scribbles Thinlits Dies.  They have a bit of everything in them and you can make so many different things, as you will see by the cards below.

I have also used the new Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies which just gives the cards that extra special touch.

Cheers and happy stamping

12 Years of Marriage

This is my very first blog as a Stampin' Up! demonstrator.  I have just posted my first event and placed my first order for all that I need for said event.  I have only been a demo for 2 weeks and I feel like I have been doing this forever.

It is my wedding anniversary this Sunday, 13th November.  My lovely husband and I always get a present for each other that is a traditional symbol for that year.  This year it is Linen and I got 2 red pillow cases (his favourite colour) and had a bear and a cat with a few words embroided on them.  They are really cute and hope he likes them. (Editor's note: It is now after the weekend, I have been so busy so didn't get the chance to finish this post as yet, it is Wednesday and needless to say I do know that my hubby loved the pillowcases).

I thought I better make a card to go with the present as well.  The card is a very simple one but it says all that I wanted to say to him.

I absolutely love the Large Number Framelits. I used them for the first time in a class before I was a demo and knew I had to have them as soon as I could get them.

My husband hasn't really had a look at any of my stamps as I keep them all safely in my craft room away from my girl's little fingers but when he opened the card his first comment was "It's cool that you can get a stamp that says something like that". I took that as his approval of Stampin' Up! 😄

I have used the Flourishing Phrases flower in Mint Macaron with the little heart from Endless Thanks in Rich Razzleberry as a little detail.

I was very happy with the way this card turned out and I am looking forward to many more anniversary cards that will be made for my husband.

I hope you have enjoyed my first blog as a Stampin' Up! demonstrator.

Cheers and happy stamping
